I was starting out on my drive to work this AM. I was by the reservoir when I saw a bird in the road that looked like it was impacted by the tire of the truck driving in front of me. I turned around, heading back toward the bird, and it looked like another truck driving by may have touched the bird. To keep the story short –
The bird’s wings were injured but the body seemed okay. I assisted the bird to the side of the road and was trying to figure things out when a woman walking the rail trail came over and offered to take the bird to Tufts Medical Center. It worked out!
I got in my car. A few minutes later, I turned my car radio on. The very first lyrics that were sung were:
“So take these broken wings and learn to fly again.”
Not just the song “Broken Wings”, but the middle of the song and the very line about taking broken wings and learning to fly again!!
It was a beautiful bird. It had a yellow tipped tail. (My favorite color is yellow.) I just looked it up. It was a Cedar Waxwing.
Oh my gosh. I won’t know if the bird will fly again. But, I am amazed at the timing and the coincidence of it all.
Amen.
